Fall Season '05, Game 6: 7-13 (Loss)
The Entercommies' final game was sadly a defeat, but spirits remained high nonetheless as the season grew to a close and the off-season began.
Early in the game, the 'Commies gained a 5-0 lead through some well-placed kicks both along the third base line and into the outfield. Matt and Scott were especially potent, often stretching mere singles into doubles or even triples.
However, the commanding lead was not to last, as the Ball Busters soon came on strong.
Cory, despite the loss, managed to score her second Player of the Game honor, proving she's both a team favorite as well as an umpire favorite.
One defensive highlight came during a play at first, in which Jenny masterfully got a Ball Busters' runner out. The runner however disagreed, despite the umpire's insistence that she was out. Troy was soon to interject "Quit arguing. You're out." "I'll argue if I want," she remarked. Troy quickly retorted, "That's fine, just argue on your way back to the dugout." Entercommies take no guff.
Thanks to everyone for a great second season. We'll return to invade another field next spring!
Standings as of 8/29: 8th out of 8

Fall Season '05, Game 5: 2-3 (Loss)
In a real squeaker of a game, the Entercommies were defeated by Pre-Emptive Strike. They were, however, the most gracious team this season, and even accepted our invitation for post-game drinks.
There were several highlights, though, despite the loss. Matt Scheck had an amazing grab in center field, leaping (what seemed like) four storeys in the air and catching a ball that (seemingly) hurtled toward him at speeds of 50 miles an hour. Troy was overheard to say "That was fucking awesome. I also like to swear."
Matt also scored a great double with a kick down the third base line, which was then turned into a run by a great Jen bunt sacrifice. Four out of five fans agreed, it was bunt-tastic.
Jenny was the other run during the game, initially scoring a double. Troy then brought her home with an equally impressive double. Jeff was excited enough to live all six feet of Jenny in joyous celebration.
Wes even caught a pop up. Everyone agreed, it was the ultimate highlight of the game.
