Fall Season '05, Game 4: 11-6 (Win)
The Entercommies scored their first win of the season, facing off against Road Rash! It was a great team effort, with many exciting highlights.
Troy drove home our first home run, bringing in both himself as well as Cory, proving a workout regimen of beer and cigarettes has paid off. The team stands corrected.
Cory also received Player of the Game status, for a tremendous catch in right field. Reports of Dean, the umpire who bestowed this status, using it as a way to get her number go unsubstantiated.
Props must also be given to Alicia for her first win as captain. Only through her guided, brilliant performance as Our Great Leader were we able to achieve victory.
Scott made a brilliant Game Winning Catch, leaping into the air and grabbing the ball like he was plucking a melon off a tree.
Joe lived up to true Ike fashion as well, pegging a girl baserunner while she was on second base. Not to get an out, of course; just to teach her a lesson.
There was also excellent base coaching from Alicia, Matt, Joe, and Jeff, who had tremendous foresight when it came to running and, equally important, not running.
Some of our kickers even managed to atomically blast some balls into the outfield of neighboring games. This demonstrates our power as 'Commies; we're not afraid to invade other games.
Afterwards, of course, there was much rejoicing as the 'Commies invaded the Ballard Bar and Grill for post-game nourishment, which is also pictured in the following update.
Standing as of 8/15: 5th out of 8
