It was a big decision. So many games were won using the element of surprise. So much success by inundating the field with both male and female battle hardened players over running the opposition.Slashing doubles and singles and aiming that hard little orb at the back of newly formed bone protecting the mush that college had concocted to serve as the central computer for each of the Entercommie players.
The screams of the crowd and the younger players begging to know where left field was proved to be too confusing for the Entercommies.
But the Seattle summers were cold and barren and the enemy had never felt such a harsh wind blowing up the back of their girlish uniforms. The Seattle mist started
holding the red artillery balls up turning them into routine fly balls.
Soon equipment bags were wet and players were coughing and wondering what the hell they were doing playing a team that had no regard for personal independence but only cared that another team had dared to try to scare them by scoring an inorbitant amount of runs. These Entercommies might lose this battle but it was a given that they were digging in for a long cold season. A season that ultimately would be dictated by the fierce winds that only St. Petersberg, 10,000 miles away ever experienced.
