Fourth Game Photos!
Spring Season '06, Game 4: 3-0 (Win)
This week, the 'Commies faced down The Greeks in a 3-0 shutout.
Kyle sustained a crippling injury early on, tearing his right quadricep, putting him out of commission early on. This couldn't keep the 'Commies down, however, who went on to score a run early in the first inning. Innings progressed in a very quick manner, shutting down Greeks faster than the Ottoman Empire.
The Commies did manage to lure The Greeks into a false sense of hope. Wes fumbled his run to second base, getting tagged out easily. Worse, despite his otherwise stellar performance in the rest of the game, Mike managed a manbunt. Even worse still, during the inevitable confusion that results from a manbunt, The Greeks' pitcher tagged out Mike in the face. Upon realizing his impending doom, the pitcher instantly hugged him and later bought him a beer. All was well.
One run just wouldn't satisfy Michelle, however. She belted a solid kick into the outfield, driving home an extra two insurance runs who go by the name of Joe and Dan. This also earned her the honor of Player of the Game. Not bad for a first game.
Standings as of 5/22: 1st out of 5 (tie)

Spring Season '06, Game 3: 0-7 (Loss)
Sadly, the Entercommies faced their first defeat of the season at the hands of the Tri-Lams. And they wore adult diapers, no less.
The Tri-Lams scored early runs against the 'Commies, only to score two more in the third inning, and so on, until their eventual shutout victory.
The tragedy of the game came that many individual players achieved personal bests, but were unable to secure a team victory. For example, Kyle and Wes both kicked 1.000.
Joe was awarded Player of the Game honors, for both his slide into second, and his amazing diving vertical catch in the sixth inning. It was later compared to his likely efforts in saving an errant PBR can tossed toward the sea. Our very own Ike was also tagged out by a female player, providing irony so thick it could be cut with a knife.
Standings as of 5/15: 3rd out of 5

Spring Season '06, Game 2: 4-1 (Win)
The Entercommies have won! The Tippy Cup Allstars put up a brave front but, in the end, were unable to stem the red tide.
In the first inning, Alicia and Adam were quick to add a couple of runs to the board, securing an early lead. The Allstars soon returned, scoring their only run immediately after. This would prove to not be enough, however.
The Allstars did have many assets that the Entercommies had to overcome, however. Among them are a first base(wo)man who would proclaim any walk as "BORING!"; a curly-haired fellow who, upon his last trip to the plate, let out a lion's roar at pitcher Alicia; and more notorious of all, Evil Adam Curtis, the more sinister version of our own third baseman.
All of these forces presented themselves, but none succeeded. Late in the game, Wes drove in a run with a line drive single, and Katie managed to drive in an additional run through a carefully executed walk.
In the end, a 4-1 win for the 'Commies, our first official win of the season.
